What were some of the biggest challenges you faced when transitioning from Branch Manager to Area Manager, and how did you overcome them?
- One of the biggest challenges was shifting from hands-on management of one store to overseeing multiple stores, where I needed to adopt a more strategic approach and trust my store managers to handle day-to-day operations. I overcame this by setting up structured weekly check-ins, implementing a clear reporting system, and building a strong rapport with each manager to foster open communication. This allowed me to stay informed and provide support without micromanaging.

What principles guide you in managing multiple stores?
- My leadership style is rooted in trust, accountability, and empowerment. I believe in setting clear expectations and providing my team with the tools and guidance they need, but I also give them the autonomy to make decisions. By doing this, I encourage them to take ownership of their roles and develop a strong sense of responsibility toward achieving our collective goals.

What strategies do you plan to implement to support and develop your teams across the different locations?
- To support and develop my teams, I plan to implement ongoing training and mentorship programs, as well as regular performance reviews that focus on both achievements and areas for improvement. Additionally, I will promote cross-store collaboration to share best practices, and I'll prioritize team-building activities to foster a cohesive environment across all stores.

What are your top priorities for improving store operations in your new role?
- My top priorities include improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and reducing waste. I will focus on streamlining processes by reviewing store layouts, ensuring adherence to standards, and optimizing inventory management. I also aim to implement regular feedback systems to capture customer insights and address areas for continuous improvement.

What motivates you and what advice can you give to those who would like to walk in your footsteps?
- I am motivated by the opportunity to lead, inspire, and see tangible results from our efforts. My advice to those aspiring to advance is to always be curious, stay adaptable, and focus on building strong relationships. A successful leader learns continuously and finds ways to add value to their team and company.

Who is Kelly outside work?
- Outside of work, I enjoy staying indoors watching reality shows, documentaries & news and travelling with friends and family. These activities help me recharge and stay balanced, which I believe ultimately make me a better leader.
