Mugg & Bean, The home of great Coffee and generosity was founded in 1996 by Ben Filmalter and his wife after bein inspired by a unique coffee shop that prided itself in the spirit of generosity in Chicago. The couple opened their first Mugg & Bean at V&A Waterfront in Capetown. This seed of generosity sprouted and has continued to grow for more than 20 years now. In 2020 there are now over 200 Mugg & Bean restaurants nationwide. You can find a Mugg & Bean in Kenya, Botswana and even the United Arab Emirates. The first M&B Chain restaurant and coffee shop in Botswana was opened in 2003 at Game City. There are currently three (3) Mugg & Bean chain restaurant and coffee shop in Botswana that sells a wide range of contemporary dishes with generous portions. These Restaurant & Coffee Shops have a good selection of coffees, free WiFi, and power plug points for remote or collaborative work. The staff is dynamic and friendly. They aim to make sure it’s a place where you arrive as a customer and leave as a friend. The three (3) Mugg & Bean chain restaurant and coffee shop are located at Sebele, Riverwalk & SSKIA.

We’re serious about coffee and we take care to hand select the best single origin beans and international blends from the finest coffee producing regions all over the world. Then we roast them locally before our professionally trained baristas pour the perfect cappuccino, just for you.
When it comes to decadent treats, we’ve been baking every cake and muffin from scratch in each of our restaurants since day one. Some of our recipes have even been in use for over 20 years.
